I came to Ann Arbor to earn a Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture at the University of Michigan’s School of Natural Resources and the Environment.  I also hold a Bachelor's in History from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, as well as a graduate certificate in Local Government Management from Eastern Michigan University.

I am an AICP-certified Urban Planner, and I've spent the last eight years working for a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm in Detroit.  I work almost exclusively with local governments and I take great pride in the work that I've done in a number of communities to encourage redevelopment and sustainability.

In the summer of 1995, I moved into a neighborhood next to West Park, on Ann Arbor's west side.  Almost immediately, I fell in love with the place:  the wonderful folks who were my neighbors, the spirit of the kids I coached in Rec and Ed Baseball and their families, and the soul and culture of the City sealed the deal for me.  After just a few months, I knew Ann Arbor was home.

It was here that I met my wife, Courtney.  My daughters, Rory and Wynne, were both born here and have shared my love for our wonderful City.
